Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative acknowledged a Master Breeder Category in 2001.

Now awarded at each ational Show, the award recognizes the rancher with the highest breeder points total at each year’s shows. Currently the points from the angora show, standard show and the mutation show are all combined and the exhibitor with the most points is awarded the Master Breeder Award.
